Birthday Party Part 1 @ Cik D

Piya has 2 other friends who were born in May 2011. Find more about them here. As each of them has 1 week apart from one and another, we opted to commemorate their birthday on May 18, 2012 Friday. The 3 babies are Aniq, Balqis and Piya. I was supposed to take a half day off instead I had to take an MC as I was down with my mensy pain. Oh bummer…….

I had lunch with Mama Aniq at IOI Mall, Puchong to settle a few things. Mama Aniq bought 2 dozens of donuts from J. CO while I had an appointment to collect the birthday cake. I bought a 1.8kg ice-cream cake from Heaven Premium Cake via Groupon which cost me RM58.00 (originally RM129.90) + RM15 for delivery services (within Puchong only). The flavor was vanilla with ornate topping namely as Tutty Fruitty. The vendor did provide candles and birthday stick but no icebox to retain the cake. The icebox has additional cost so I just bare with the situation. The delivery boy told me the cake would last for another 45 minutes in room temperature so this kinda encourage me to drive quite hastily.

Heaven Premium Ice-Cream Cake @ RM58.00 only
Once that was done, I drove instantly to the babysitter’s and began with the decoration. And yes, I did all this while enduring vexes of mensy pain. Mama Balqis was on leave too so she care for the babies while I was blowing the balloons. As we were there to lend a hand, Cik D began cooking 2 savories; Spaghetti Bolognese and Mac & Cheese. I had greater plans for the decoration but was impotent to doth the notion. That’s why I hate mensy pain. Once the decoration was done, I bath Piya and head home to fetch Uncle Din. Mama Balqis went home too to fetch her ayah and buy KFC along the way.

Our special guest of the day was Caca and her mother. You see, Mama Caca has recently quit her job and is staying at home for the time being. For this reason, Caca is longer with her friends and is staying at home with her mother. So it has been awhile since we met them. It was truly wonderful to see both of them again.

Uncle Din and I return around 7.30 pm while some have already arrived on time. Papa Aniq was the earliest to arrive (6.45pm) and MamaZameer arrived around 7.00 pm. Some were late due to work obligation but most importantly Balqis’s family arrived just at the nick of time. We sang the birthday song, blew some candles and attack the food! I was truly in great hunger. The repertoire of foods was simple yet delicious. I am truly a satisfied customer of the ice-cream cake; it has a sponge cake as the base and the cross-section appears to be a vanilla-paddle-pop! Everyone was happy with the cake and it's suitable for the babies too. Cik D cooked Mac & Cheese for the kids but I noticed it was a crowd puller among the parents.

All in all, the birthday occasion was wonderful; great food, great companions and it was lovely to watch the children’s behavior. All of them were driven by adrenalin rush due to all the sweetness around.

It was truly a great celebration. Thank you to all parents that attended the function and great presents for Piya.

Deepest gratitude to Cik D for hosting the occasion, prepared great foods and only Allah SWT could repay you for all your effort in caring for our children. You have been taking care my baby since she was only 2 months old and i'm truly indebted. You are truly the best babysitter around.

Love you Cik D

Aromatherapy Massage @ Amante Taipan

My first indulgence of pampering my body; endurance with great agony………… bummer………
Mama Aniq stumbled upon a great pampering deal with Amante Nail Spa and Body Care at Groupon. Instead of the original deal RM78, we only paid RM29 for 1-hour of full body Aromatherapy Massage. When she broach on idea to give it a try, I concur w/o much hesitation.
We chose their outlet in Taipan as that’s the nearest with Proton. Located at the 1st floor, the stairs were ornate with white stones. To create serene vicinity, the whole place was enthused with dim lights that accentuate their well-organized products against the wall. The staff welcomed us with warm greetings and eventually led us to individual rooms.

Lesson learned prior to body massage:-
1.       Do bathe and scrub (be odorless ok)
2.       Wear something simple and easy to unravel
3.       Be present with an empty stomach
4.       Trim, plucked, wax and whatnot with the same synonym
5.       Wash your feet upon arrival
As I came from the office during Friday lunch break, I arrived conveniently with number 3 and 5 only. (Thankfully I did number 4 before Friday). After changing, the masseuse entered the room and began instantly. While I was lying face down, my mind was totally straddled with tranquil thoughts of woman with a flower behind her ears, smiling away embracing the moment. But when she started with my foot, my thoughts began to differ........Haaaaaaaaaaaa…. NOT!
THE DOWNSIDE
Bila masseuse tu sentuh jer tapak kaki aku, aku dh sakit. Pastu bila urutan tuh makin naik ke area lain, maaaaaaaaaaak aaaaaaaaaaaii… sakit weyh…! Aku dok laaaa ketap bibir pejam mata tahan sakit, tangan dok pegang kuat katil tuh… tapak tangan and tapak kaki takyah la cerita……. Berpeluh2 sejuk…… pastu aku nih ader weird habit; bila sakit aku akan ketawa…. Sampai masseuse tuh Tanya “ini sakit ke geli..? (dgn slang indon nyer)”… I answered “sakiiit….”…. I told her that the last time I had a massage was during my puerperium and that was very damn painful too… She sort of made me reminisced the whole agony I endured all over again….
Well, the fault was mine actually. Post-natal mothers are supposed to have continual massage in order to release muscle stress and improve blood circulation. But I didn’t. It has been almost 1 year since I had a massage so you don’t need an expert to decipher my pain.
THE GOODSIDE
My masseuse was very good. She’s very skillful in noticing stress muscles and poor blood circulation. She tackled the stiff muscles until they felt softer. Even though I felt 60% of pain, I did enjoy the whole thing. We completed exactly after an hour and they served warm ginger tea upon completion. I felt lighter, relieve and much happier. It was a good experience after all.
AMONG THE TREATMENTS

Thank you Mr Google for the photos~

Another lesson learnt from today’s experience: rajin rajin laaa mengurut bila dah beranak tuh……..

MFM offer - out for dine on a special occassion

Do you recall the post where i bought 3 coupon vouchers to dine-in at Manhattan's Fish Market? well, prior to collecting my new car, i treated my family using those coupons. in fact, that was the intended plan all along.

COMMENTS

  1. Thankfully the coupon vouchers werent faux and acknowledged by MFM Subang Jaya. i was worried for the thought of purchasing something bogus.
  2. The service was ok laaa..Suddenly out of the blue MFM Subang Jaya outlet employed a bunch of foreigners as waiters.. adddduuuuh...why laaa...i really despite well-known restaurants hiring foreigners who are mediocre in English.. we ask for 2 warm waters and it never came. then i called the Malay waiter to request the plain waters again...this approach leaves negative impact on your image branding laa.
  3. The foods met my expectation. it was really mouth watering and worth my money. the serving was humongous! one serving is actually ample for 3 adults. and btw, you tend to get bored or muak eating too much of the deep fried shrimp fritter........
  4. The drinks were very sweet while the soups were not tasty.. i thought they were serving seafood chowder instead it was pumpkin chowder....aaaaargh... not worth it...
Having said all that, we had so much fun as it has been a while since everyone is around the table.
