Xmas 2013

Assalammualaikum...

Every off day is deemed as fun day for me. Especially off days that took place in the middle of the week. I will not be enjoying the same off day like other Malaysians anymore commencing next year as my division will follow suit production's holidays. This also means that my holidays will no longer be in line with Uncle Din's. So when Xmas took place recently, we both decided to make full use of the opportunity of spending our off day together. What better plan could there be other than taking Piya out for a movie night?

Thankfully Disney releases its latest princess adventure movie called Frozen. Growing up reading Hans Christian Andersen stories collection, it was kinda difficult for me to assuage to the story line because it was totally the opposite of Snow Queen. In the originals, the story orbits on the affiliation between Kai & Gerda. It is known to be the longest and tensed story book ever written by H. C. Andersen. To summarize the story, Kai and Gerda are very close until one day a splinter from a troll-mirror (a mirror that only reflects the bad aspect of people) changes Kai to become callous and bitter especially towards Gerda. Later on, as Kai was playing by the lake, he was approached by the Snow Queen. He then followed her back to her kingdom in the North Pole. As you may have guess, by the power of true love, Gerda traces his trail and wins him once again leaving the Snow Queen behind.

H.C. Anderson version that I watched when I was little. Source from Wikipedia.
Unlike the originals, Frozen is more happy, pleasant and fickle with happy inklings. Besides, it is Disney after all right? That is their forte. Even though we live nearby to Citta Mall, we never step a foot at MBO cinema. We were lucky that we were in time purchasing tickets online hence reducing the rigmarole chagrin of waiting in line purchasing tickets. We bought a couple seat at the cost of RM30 and Piya is still considered FOC. Our movie started at 8.45pm and finished timely around 10.15pm. One thing I love about Citta Mall is the space. The space is very handy when you are handling a child who loves to run around up and down driving you mad. So yeaaaah, I love Citta Mall for that particular reason.

On Xmas day, Uncle Din wanted to stay put so we didn't get to join any crowds at nearby shopping complex. The only fun thing that we did was claiming a voucher at Gastro Cafe SS15 Subang Jaya. It is a Hainanese restaurant hence I find the repertoire quite peculiar. No, I'm not familiar with Hainanese foods.

I bought the voucher online at a reasonable price which consist of 1 chicken chop (3 flavors), 1 nasi lemak (5 sidelines), 2 drinks & 2 desserts. At a normal rate, the nasi lemak would cost RM8.90 while the chicken chop would be RM13.90 (if I'm not mistaken). I tried to order something else too but none was appealing.

The food was quite OK-lah. The chicken chop was a surprise as it tasted like deep fried chicken fillet and then you just pour over a sweat sour sauce on top of it. Not my kinda thing. The restaurant is very spacious as it consumes 2 lots. I like the simple interior decor with soothing ambient. Or maybe it was due to public holiday hence no one came.

Piya was in no mood of any selfie. I begin to wonder if she is picking up the gesture from Uncle Din.

Isk....

 Still xmo layan mama.... (-___-)'
I tried to coax Uncle Din to detour to Empire Shopping Mall or even Subang Parade but naaaaah, he didn't give in. But I did managed to entice him to stop over at Rojak Mamak SS15 Subang Jaya for vadey...! I love vadey man..... Awesome Indian doughnut.

Apparently I had posted an entry on Xmas day sometime in 2011. Here's some photos of how we looked like 2 years ago. With that, thank you for reading people...

My lovely weekend

Assalammualaikum..

Laid back weekend => my kind of thing. I'm adjusting my schedule to spend more time with Piya and cook for my family more often. Things are getting pretty pricey these days but as a working mom with a side job, I just don't have the strength to serve home cook meals. Guess I really must adjust things huh. Syukur Alhamdulillah my schedule was clear last weekend and I was practically crossing my fingers not to have impromptu photo shoots. Don't get me wrong I love my side job but I would prefer to have them well planned rather than shoots that are spur of the moment. So having said that, Uncle Din and I agreed to take Piya to Taman Tasik Shah Alam for the very 1st time.

Sedih kan? This place is my home town and only now I brought my daughter here? Returning to this lake brought back a lot of memories. Some are nice to reminisce about while others are still consuming effort to be forgotten. I used to live in Sec.11 Shah Alam for more than 20 years upon returning from Canterbury, UK. Sec. 11 is located strategically adjacent to the lake hence I have countless memories of walking around this lake. As a matter of fact, both of my schools SRK Raja Muda Sec.4 and SMKSSAAS Sec.2 are also neighboring the lake. To add more load on the wagon, actually I had my Diploma & Degree from UiTM Shah Alam which also is a shy away from the lake. Yes, I'm a boring person... I know...

Uncle Din did oppressed me to take them here but then again it is not easy for me to do so as I refuse to hark back to some painful memories......By letting my hair down, I finally deflect my issues and plow through Saturday morning with my family at the lake. I've done my do and I can't unwrap my past. So off went and some how or rather something helped to eradicate my emotions that morning....

This. Her palpable joy when we arrived at the play ground. Her buoyant trails were totally breathtaking and luminous. Uncle Din was excited too as according to him, it has been ages since he last step a foot here. As any other play grounds, Piya ran all over the place with us taking turns carrying the backpack or chasing after her. Phew....

LUNCH

 DINNER

I extended my laid back weekend until Sunday and filled them with home cooked meals. For some, home cooked meals are like blaaaaaah, what's the big deal? For me it is like OMG! I just cooked this or that! Hahahahaaa... pathetic...

Uncle Din and I agreed that we would do this more often for Piya's sake. She's one tough cookie and we must allow her to belabor on that. What can I say? My daughter is very energetic while the parents are compromising with age..... As for my cooking, will definitely work on that section... I need to thank the mom's supporting group at my work place. They are so diligent in the kitchen that kinda make me feel bad for myself as I'm nothing on par with them. Anyhoo, they are such inspiring ladies who deserve a standing ovation..

Until then, thank you for reading yea

Treating the Family some vacation

Salam everyone..

Have you ever felt so weary that it even hurts to respond to the morning sunrise and chirping birds? Well, I just had one of those. Subhanallah, my body was waning as a result of perennial modeling jobs, fashion shows, people ordering BBplus and attending my family needs. Don't get me wrong; I love every bit of the phase I'm in right now but a girl gotta rest too you know. Alhamdulillah the modeling jobs have been generous & prolific hence with the extra bucks that gained, I decided to treat Uncle Din and Piya some holiday getaway. And of course every time I asked Uncle Din "Where would you like to go sayang?" his answer would definitely be "I naaaaak Cameron..!" Okeeee...Fine...

I found a good offer in Groupon to stay at Equatorial Hotel whereby it was a 3D2N stay which cost me around RM300++ only. Cheap huh? Normally you are only entitled to the superior room for a night at such rate but hey! Sustenance is by the hand of Allah. You'll never know you might stumble upon a good fortune one day huh. I even upgraded the room to Deluxe hence we got to stay at the top floor and felt clearer to the fog. Hoyeeeeeaaah... I should have purchased Deluxe earlier because I seriously did not know that it is a 1 bedroom 1 lounge stay. It cost an extra RM90 on weekends and RM40 on weekdays. OK la kan? Ok sangat kot....

This time around as it is not our first time in Cameron, we decided to chill and totally lay back. We were simply not bothered to visit aaaaall the interesting places; just a few in mind. The tea plantation, pasar malam at Tanah Rata, the chocolate factory, the flea market by the hotel and checking out a new place name Lavender Hill kot. Other than that, we irrefutably opted to rest. Well, that was the whole idea. Piya has a pleasant time playing by herself. She brought along her teddy bear, toy car, ABC books and we bought her new toys too. With the spacious room that we have all by ourselves, our stay was further enlighten by the hotel's gratitude; every returned customer receives a complimentary plate. Last year I received a plate of chocolate strawberry flavour while this time around I received a plate of strawberries dipped with chocolates sauce. Oh my..

To conclude, our stay was great. I felt rejuvenated especially soaking in the hot tub. I had quality time with my family and that notion is one that I value the most.

Thank you for reading & hope you enjoy the photos.
