Another awesome TV drama!

Assalammualaikum..

What have I gotten myself into....? I kinda took a vow and promised myself that I will not entangled myself anymore in any form of drama. Life should be free of worries, free from perennial apprehension and should be lived in the most beneficial way as possible. I'm so sick and tired of being attached to a 'soul' and expect the best coming out from it. What have I gotten myself into....?

Oh, a warning though that this entry is totally baseless and might be irritating to you....

My recent apprehension is none other than this.........

Long may she reign... Aaaaaaargh! I love the series so much that I think I'm deeply attached to it and I hate that! I hate that because my mind is totally hovering on the characters; why is Mary so kind? Why must Francis be so stupid (he totally vouched that men have always been stupid since the 15th centuries), why must Bash be so hot? Why must the Queen's subject drawn into men so easily? Haiyaaaaaa...... Talking about obsession huh? Pffft..

Is it still unfathomable?

You see, I have been fascinated with such genre since I was a little girl. One of my first social-elite movie was The Slipper and the Rose (1976) starring Richard Chamberlain. It was also among my first exposure to musical movies. I just love everything about them. I even imagine wouldnt it be nice if I live at that point of time? The world seems like a safer place, free from any form of pollution, no technology, very graceful manners, POLITE MEN, MEN RESPECTING WOMEN, the dances, the garments and the beautiful mothernature... Oh my.... Besides this movie, I'm 200% in love with Pride & Prejudice.. C'mon; how can you not be in love with Mr. Darcy & Elizabeth? Sense & Sensibility, Persuasion, Little Women and the list could go on forever.........

Mary of Scots time came way before that actually. She was during the 15th century where people were still at war over ruling kingdoms. Having said that, I too, love the genre during this century. Braveheart, Elizabeth, The other Boleyn girl, Young Victoria, Lady Jane and the list could go on forever. What bothers me the most of this tele-series is that I've read the life of Mary. I'm educated on her history and her life which ended tragically. Reign claims that it is based on the life of Mary but more or less it is a combination of fiction too. Some of the storyline were created for television sake or else it would be so dull like we're watching history channel. For instance the ladies in waiting... awesome bunch of lass..

The Reign TV series is so awesome if you appreciate literature. I love the idioms, the comprehensive words and line. I love everything about the series especially when the 3 main lead cast are irrefutably gorgeous (spell BASH). I watched the latest episode and it really bothers me to the core! I even watched it twice to comprehend my frustration! eeeeeeeyyyh... I'm in the office at this very moment but my mind has not left the set; why would Francis do such a thing? What would happen to Bash?

So this proven that I'm officially hooked on another TV drama when I vowed not to... Haiyaaaaa...

Masjlis Perkahwinan Izzue Islam

Delay delay delay.. My bad.. but work does seem to catch up a lot with me hence the hiatus in commemorating some trails of event.

Ok, earlier this month we attended two weddings; one was a colleague of Uncle Din and the other was well.. Izzue Islam. My in-laws could not attend his wedding as they were here the week before hence it was just too much for their aged body to handle. For this reason, we were asked to represent them and I was soooo willingly happy to do the honors. Hahaha...

 The Invitation card

Us at the 1st wedding reception of a friend

Pok Jue tied the knot on June 2, 2013 with his manager; Awin Nurin. Yesssss, she is more 'mature' than him but then again these are all just part parcel of Allah's plan for His beings. Che Ta nak kawin dengan Zain Saidin rilek jer, so chill la ok.. :) We arrived kinda late though around 2pm and Ijue was already at the high table looking dapper in white. The couple was solemnized earlier on at 9.00 am and was celebrated later on in the afternoon. Most of the imperative family members from Kelantan were there especially his grandma (Mek) and his dad. You see, his mother (CikDah) raised Ijue and his elder brother as a single mother so it is a truly a great day when his dad could make it. The family members were clad in brown while we were in blue as mentioned in the invitation card! Pfffsst... Hence the same old ugly royal blue dress that I've worn so many times. I would have looked suave in my brown dress. Haiyaaaa..

Would you believe it that I sacrifice my meal due to overwhelming adrenalin rush? I know, shame on me. But I thrilled to meet the Forteen and some other celebs for the 1st time! Especially Forteen. I really thought that the band was just another boy band in the scene whereby all they do is pose handsomely like some Dashing advertisement and sing awfully. Indeed, I was wrong. The group is truly a bunch of talented lads with great features. I was mesmerized watching them performing live as their harmonize performance was truly breathtaking. I'm too old for this though. Boyband years are behind me already.

With Forteen *melt*

Dahsyat kan pelamin die? Sampai siling.. kelas kau Mak Jah!

Sampai2 kat atas rasa kagum tgk kecantikan pelamin die. Sampai ke siling kot bunga-bunga sakura die. Tema pelamin putih. That is truly the best theme. Tak ramai artis yg datang, maybe Ijue ajak yg rapat dengan die or sume dh bz dgn jemputan masing2. Artis yg saya jumpa Lisa & Yusri, Bento & wife (Bento bukan makanan jepun tuh ke???), Adi Putra & wife, Afiq Muiz & Eina and Rosyam Nor. Adik beradik KRU pon ader tapi saya tak minat. How were they? Well, things are better left unsaid. Some were truly nice while some were truly annoying & snobbish. Xmo minat dah kat awok! *tongue

"Sayang, nape you duduk? I diri sorang2..??"
"Dah Ijue ajak.. xkan nak tolak? Sorry, cannot resist.. Hahhaaa.."

Dan inilah yang kami dapat sebagai door gift. Nak bukak pon sayang tau so door gift ini masih berbalut cantik lagi tanpa disentuh.

Syukur alhamdulillah adik Ijue dah selamat mendirikan rumah tangga.. Kak Dora dan Abe jue doakan yang terbaik buat awak.. Ramai peminat (termasuk saya) keciwa awak dah kawen... dat's normal... hehehee.... InsyaAllah dapat jumpa lagi masa Raya tahun ini..

Amiiin..

Miss Universe Kimberley Leggett & Jovian Mandagie

Assalammualaikum and Good day people,

Kimberley Leggett was crowned Miss Universe Malaysia 2012 at the Sunway Convention Centre, Penang on November 10, 2011. Kimberley Leggett will represent Malaysia at the Miss Universe 2012 which will be held at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA on Wednesday night of December 19, 2012. (errrrr... dats tonight right?)

The beautiful 20 year old lass who stands at 175cm tall will be wearing an intricate, beautiful and avant-garde piece of Jovian’s mastery at Miss Universe. Absolutely breathtaking and graceful right? Don't you wish your body is like that? It's like she was born to have this beautiful figure.

Leggett will be parading an exquisite kebaya, an elaborate piece that features a top made with French and German laces, adorned with French tulle and complemented by bird feathers. A stunning piece of hand-drawn vintage Terengganu batik makes up the rest of the outfit. Source if from The STAR newspaper.

Zenmeyang (bagaimana in Huayu)?? This gown is definitely an eye catcher but perhaps in the eyes of my mentors as they make an earning of 5,6 figures a month. Who knows maybe one day I'll be on stage for my CDM recognition in one of these babies yea?

Yours truly,

Hari Raya with Izzue Islam

Subhanallah… if only I knew earlier that they’re related, I would blithely visit Kelantan more often just to capture a glimpse of him. Dapat tengok rumah pon jadi laaa... Why must you be so adorable huh? Sib baik Uncle Din x jeles aku minat sgt si Ijue.... panggilan dua2 pon sama; Ijue..... Tapi what to do; Izzue Islam mmg good looking and talented sgt2....

Sepupu yg comel
Izzue came over our house during Abah's open house on Hari Raya kedua. Habes satu rumah tau aku minat kat die....Saja jer sume orang nak wat aku tersipu2 malu........... Mencik....

Us and Izzue Islam
You see, I have a thing with jambu guys. I like jambu guys. They seem to be more subtle, naïve & kind to the eyes. Although macho guys are heart melting but I like jambu guys. Well, I think my life partner is quite a palpable choice right?

Uncle Din & Izzue Islam
I was so mesmerized when the eyes met. I could feel my knees weaken when we salam each other. I really felt like I wanted to faint. Oh my..

The makciks with Izzue Islam
I really tried not to be so blatant admiring Izzue Islam but apparently Uncle Din doesn’t mind at all. And oh, I’m not admiring a random person ok. They’re close relatives & I did ask him afterwards “Ayang, boleh ke die salam tangan I sayang? Boleh ke? Tak nak basuh laaa tangan lepas nih”

My nephew with Izzue Islam
Thankfully Uncle Din wasn’t bother by all these.  On the other contrary, Uncle Din was like “weeeeyh… Nih peminat mu nih… peminat…!”.. Hampeh Abe Jue nih......suka-suki malukan aku mcm tuh....Even masa ambil gambar, tetibe si Piya dtg berlari-lari ke arah Izzue dan mintak Izzue dukung.. Pastu die renung jer muka Izzue... Ingatkan mak je suka, anak pon suka..!

Senyuman Di Kuala Lumpur - an epitome of Kelantanese

Recently Astro aired a very light-hearten family drama which tells the trail of virtue for 2 young graduates. The drama is called Senyuman Di Kuala Lumpur staring Izzue Islam and Sara Ali. It did give my father and I great mirth watching it as the main characters are kinda fickle in a way.

Izzue Islam (Ismadi)
Sara Ali (Nazira)
I don’t intend to expound on the synopsis as you can get those information from blogs / Google / entertainment portals. Nor I intend to share the cast’s profile / career path profusely. Do get that info elsewhere.

Conversely, I intend to share this movie from a different point of view. In order to do so, allow me to summarize the trail of journey:-

Nazira (Sara Ali) comes from a wealthy family that intends to send her continuing studying abroad to achieve the trail of success like her elder brother and sister. Instead of gratitude for the opportunity, Nazira detest the notion; feeling self-doubting with oneself and fear of trifle away her parents’ investment. She does intend to convey her thoughts to her abrasive mother but more often than not, the mother refuses to lend an ear listening to her conflict. For this reason, Nazira chose to rebel and linger with her friends.

Somewhere else in the map, Ismadi; a young and diligent lad originates from Kelantan aspires studying abroad to give a better life to his mother. He represents a great epitome of graduates from rural areas that are given the likelihood to go overseas.

With a simple twist of fate, they meet-up in KL as Ismadi has an interview, went for sight-seeing, became friends and warm valedictorian. Interestingly, the story is a one-day agenda because Ismadi’s interview was in morning and he booked a ticket home later that night.

Ok, so basically that’s the story line. I’m making an entry on this drama as it totally makes me reminisced my acquaintance with Uncle Din. Dah laaaa muka si Izzue nih mirip Uncle Din (Uncle Din kata Izzue nih saudara die dr Kampung Badak Mati.. ntah betol ke tidak...) Furthermore, our 2nd wedding anniversary is just around the corner and I am in the midst of reviewing my life.

Uncle Din and I are totally from 2 different worlds. He’s pious, suave, kind-hearted, and soft-spoken, barely swears and always speaks of kind words. I on the other hand; swear a lot; barely perform my prayers 5x a day, constantly judging and not the best of a person. Just like the movie, I constantly felt hollow until I met Uncle Din. He taught me to adhere prayer time, listening to sermon, speak kinder words and most importantly to wear covering attire.

Some traits were very common in our society. For instance even though Ismadi studied in UTM Skudai Johor, he's unable to converse other than his mother tongue dialect; Kelantan dialect. And yes, I concur with Nazira when she felt humiliated conversing with Ismadi. It was already bad enough visiting places that you're not interested, conversing with Ismadi was adding further insult to the injury. Poor Ismadi...... Speaking of that, there's nothing wrong with it really... Even i couldn't understand what was i thinking back then... Typical KL people kot.... tak baik kan?

This movie warms the heart especially the scenes where Nazira corrected Ismadi’s pronunciation. I laughed so hard when Nazira spoke to Ismadi for the very 1st time asking his whereabouts. He answered "pemade appi.." When Nazira didn't understand, Ismadi said to himself "Allah dio tok pahe... beghaat aah.."... This reminds me,  I always corrected Uncle Din’s pronunciation too especially when he’s babysitting Piya; “jago tange tuh..” Haiyaaaa.... pastu aku akan kata "ape tange tange? tangaaaan..~" I am imprinted by the movie now. I really recommend this movie to those with Kelantanese-husband because they’re the best people to feel related.

My favorite line albeit brief; “terima kasih deh.”

Skating in Hijab?

I was actually glancing through Yahoo! News when I noticed a catchy news title; Zahra Lari Ice Princess in the Hijab. As I read on, I became fascinated on her determination to become a professional ice figure. I do watch this sport and I grew up adoring the beautiful slim-figured skaters clad in ornate outfits. I grew up watching Katarina Witt and Michelle Kwan; both made known to me from their acting.

The question that you may ponder right now is “Who is Zahra Lari?” Well, she’s a 17-year-old Emirati and the first figure skater from the Gulf competing in such a prominent sport. In lieu of that, she’s the first to perform the artistic sport cladding in Hijab. According to her, it took her mother a great deal to convince the father. I do understand the father’s point of view though. Islam from the Gulf is well known for being pious and spiritual in regard of religion. Nonetheless, I also believe that you may do anything as you please as long as it does not jeopardize your Iman and it is not seditious. Be prudent in holding the family’s honor.

Definitely a standing ovation from me.
