My Eid Adha 2013

Salam and hello everyone..

Post Eid Adha : still in the holiday mood. Even though I was here in Shah Alam but I do appreciate every single leave I could put my hands on to be it an annual leave or due to calendar year. So how was my Eid Adha this year? I gotta admit this; not as fun as celebrating it in Kelantan :(  ....

As mentioned in my earlier post, I worked on Monday and surprisingly Uncle Din fetched me from work all alone without any sight of Piya. Piya was left at home with Mak Tok while Uncle Din went out running for errands. Since it was only the two of us, ape lagi.... dating la! Uncle Din brought me to Sunway Piramid and dined at Sushi King for my breaking fast. Buka puasa makan sushi.... fuyooooo... Initially we planned to catch a movie and Uncle Din was already very giddy about the notion. But, deep down inside, it just didn't feel right.. The afterthought really bothered me while we were standing in front of the ticketing lane.. Then as usual I began to miss Piya; wondering whether she is having proper meal at home, has she bathe, what is she doing etc etc etc.... Uncle Din just smiled listening to my trail of thoughts. At that moment, he took my hand and we walked away from the ticketing lane. Alhamdulillah my lovely husband is soooo used of my irresolute stance. Hahaha... How motherhood has changed my sentiment...  Indeed! We head straight to a toy store adjacent to Daiso and we bought her a foldable play house. I wanted to buy so many other things but Uncle Din said "Nih mak ke anak yang nak? Lain kali eh, lain kali...." sambil geleng kepala ok.....

We were awaken at dawn by the serene mellow sound of Takbīr (تَكْبِير)coming from the mosque just down the road. Uncle Din was getting ready for Eid prayer but I didn't follow suit as I gotta have Piya ready and prepare breakfast too. Upon his return from the mosque, we were still not ready yet.. bahahahaa! Moreover, our appointment for beraya was around 11.00am so we still had plenty of time... pfft.. See what held us so long in the bathroom? This missy just started learning to brush her own teeth these days and rather than discouraging her by asking her to expedite the process, I just let her be on her own pace.

We gathered at his cousin's house at Saujana Utama (kot... I think...) and met with other Kelantanese who also did not return for Eid this year. I just sat quietly in front of the TV with Piya eating Laksam and chicken rice.

Got kinda immersed watching this movie though (I seriously had no clue what I was watching...)

When we reached home, much to my surprise that Zeffi & Lina were dining at the main hall. Aaaauuuw I love meeting their kids. All of a sudden Piya became famished and wanted to eat with them too. So Mama kena laa makan lagi! #camnernakkurus????!  And as usual everyone was feeling so drowsy after having a big lunch and they just doze off. I, on the other hand, don't do naps during daytime so I had to babysit the kids. I seriously don't know where the kids got their energy from! They were running around, screaming and laughing and giggling and yelling some more.... Gaaaah...! This is so exasperating.... While the kids were doing their thing, I just sat at lounge watching E! all by myself... Talking about 'me' time huh....

The family departed around 7pm and the funny thing was Lea's remark "Alaaaaa... tak sempat main dengan Piya". Ait?? You have been playing with her for the past 5 hours dude..

Aaaaand that was how our Eid Adha was spent; the urban way. Hope to celebrate the next in Kelantan laaa... In sha Allah..

Eid 2013 : Theme Color

Salam Everyone,

I reckoned that it is a norm tradition for every family to agree and decide upon a theme color every year. I'm truly one of the flock of birds who just love to ponder and spend intricate moments deciding on a theme color. I appreciate colours and my interest is always leaning towards something out of the norm. Last year I picked Emerald Green as the family's theme color and it was a disaster. Apparently the color was kinda difficult to scout and we ended looking like a bush. So this year, I thought / reckon / surmised that the choice that I've made is deemed best and pweeeeeeeety. Inspired from my recent dieting healthy eating regime and Piya's fascination towards Nemo, this year's color is

SALMON / CORAL

Not tangerine nor carrot. Please pronounce correctly my dear; salmon or coral. *Sigh

I've been eating a lot of Grilled Salmon that I was even bothered to cook them on my own. I read that eating Grilled Salmon with vegies is one of the best healthy diets and anything spelled under that sections sound tempting to me. In lieu of my obsession with salmon, Piya has been very engrossed watching Finding Nemo. She watched "Fish" almost everyday and it is making us nauseated by the notion already. In the movie, Nemo's mom name is Coral. *Lightbulb.... With the concoction of eating salmon and the memory of Nemo's mom, Salmon / Coral was chosen as our theme color....!!!

There..... Didn't I told you that I love putting intricate effort on such small things?

Discolored due to filter by IG
Uncle Din : Baju Raya Aaron Aziz by Jakel RM250
Mine : Baju Raya Cotton Sulam Manik RM120
Piya : Baju Raya Cotton Manik RM60

We are a very low maintenance family thank you.

Hari Raya with Izzue Islam

Subhanallah… if only I knew earlier that they’re related, I would blithely visit Kelantan more often just to capture a glimpse of him. Dapat tengok rumah pon jadi laaa... Why must you be so adorable huh? Sib baik Uncle Din x jeles aku minat sgt si Ijue.... panggilan dua2 pon sama; Ijue..... Tapi what to do; Izzue Islam mmg good looking and talented sgt2....

Sepupu yg comel
Izzue came over our house during Abah's open house on Hari Raya kedua. Habes satu rumah tau aku minat kat die....Saja jer sume orang nak wat aku tersipu2 malu........... Mencik....

Us and Izzue Islam
You see, I have a thing with jambu guys. I like jambu guys. They seem to be more subtle, naïve & kind to the eyes. Although macho guys are heart melting but I like jambu guys. Well, I think my life partner is quite a palpable choice right?

Uncle Din & Izzue Islam
I was so mesmerized when the eyes met. I could feel my knees weaken when we salam each other. I really felt like I wanted to faint. Oh my..

The makciks with Izzue Islam
I really tried not to be so blatant admiring Izzue Islam but apparently Uncle Din doesn’t mind at all. And oh, I’m not admiring a random person ok. They’re close relatives & I did ask him afterwards “Ayang, boleh ke die salam tangan I sayang? Boleh ke? Tak nak basuh laaa tangan lepas nih”

My nephew with Izzue Islam
Thankfully Uncle Din wasn’t bother by all these.  On the other contrary, Uncle Din was like “weeeeyh… Nih peminat mu nih… peminat…!”.. Hampeh Abe Jue nih......suka-suki malukan aku mcm tuh....Even masa ambil gambar, tetibe si Piya dtg berlari-lari ke arah Izzue dan mintak Izzue dukung.. Pastu die renung jer muka Izzue... Ingatkan mak je suka, anak pon suka..!

Hari Raya 2012 @ Kelantan - Part 1

It’s Monday again and I am so engulf with the blues. It has been so nice embracing Eid holiday for the entire week. Lucky me that Uncle Din was also given 1 week of Eid holiday so there wasn’t any petty quarrel over whose tired returning from work or who’s enjoying more holiday.  Anyhooo, happy Monday people and I believe everyone has resume to work today. Redha jer laaaa yea.

How was your Eid this year? I had a blast this year mainly because I celebrated 1st week of raya in Kelantan (yeap, his turn). KAMPUNG BADAK MATI. We traveled to Kelantan on Thursday and endured a 10 hour journey. It was ok though as we traveled early in the morning and arrived safely by noon. Since Ramadhan is a shy of 3 days away, Maa made Nasi Kerabu for us and I must say I think I had enough of Nasi Kerabu for the moment as I ate them for three days in a row. To complement Maa’s serving, we went to the nearest bazaar and we stumble upon Daging Bakar. It looks like a humongous beef satay which cost RM5 per stick and it was so appealing. We were fasting and definitely we felt so compelled. Maa on the other hand really spoil us for iftar with her overwhelming Nasi Kerabu, air kelapa, ayam percik and cempedak goreng. Oh my….. I shed a few kilos prior coming to Kelantan and it hasn’t been one day of our stay I was already counting calories.

Alhamdulillah God has blessed both us with an abundance of sustenance whereby I received bonus from Proton & PB biz while Uncle Din got some from his company. In conjunction with his fortune, he bought me an air-cooler & steamed iron to comprehend our stay at his kampung. Hehehe… Terbaik raya… Dah mcm dobi bilik aku malam tuh gosok SEMUA baju raya kami 3 anak beranak for the entire stay and gantung kat dinding.

August 19, 2012 – Hari Raya Aidlilfitri

I just love the notion of preparing my husband for solat Raya; helping him with the baju melayu, button him up and fit the sampin around his waist. I love watching him cladding baju melayu as I truly believe men look dapper in them. Piya had a new experience too; her very 1st attempt in baju kurung. I had to roll her sleeves and waist band though because she wasn’t use to it. She likes to run around and keep falling to her feet in the baju kurung.

Of course I have a hands-full of photos so I have to post this Raya entry in staggered.

Daa~
