Modelling Jobs in Ramadhan

Syukur Alhamdulillah I am blessed with a gamut of sustenance this Ramadhan. I have sooooo many things that I am grateful for that I do not know where to begin with. I've never been this happy and I am so grateful to be given such opportunities:-

My daughter is growing up so well (alhamdulillah) and I do hope she will have a beautiful Ramadhan this year (InshaAllah)

My husband is more supportive than ever (I'll tell you why in a moment)

 I still have my parents around (and do bear in mind that any contact with our parent albeit a glimpse or mere pittance, Allah will bless us with pahala)

My mother and I have strong will not in cooking & preparing meals for breaking fast and sahur; we are on a campaign of boycotting Bazaar Ramadhan for their ridiculous price and tasteless food.

Now, if you have been following my blog, you would have known by now that I have another career which involves cameras and limelight. It's hard work believe me but you must never whine on doing things that you adore. *Zip lips... Furthermore, it is a very competitive field and I truly have no idea if I would be bestowed upon another opportunity. Besides, I'm neither young nor thin anymore. To cut short the story, I've been working since the 1st day of Ramadhan for GetGorgeous Boutique Raya Collection for 2 weeks in a row. The job would start at 9.00pm and wrapped up by 3.00am the next morning. Was I all by myself? Nope, Uncle Din accompanied me throughout the end. Poor guy; he had to wait until morning for the photo shoot is done.

I know; the notion does not hold water. I was driving on my home when I got a phone call from Hera Helmi offering the job. It was a 2 days iftar fashion show at Shangrila Putrajaya. I even had to cancelled my trip balik kampung to Malacca to commit to the job. The 1st day was for Jubahsouq (did you know that the brand is anchored by 2 talented males? Amir and Zack) while the 2nd day was for Koleksi Daraa Ezuwan Ismail. Makeup starts at 3.00pm, runway show starts at 8.00pm, photo shoot at 9.00pm and we wrapped up at 10.00pm. I had no idea this is how the team works especially the models; we break our fast with a sip of water and started to work at 8.00pm. Maaaak ai.. sib baik masiih bernafas.. Solat? Don't fret will ya? I took my ablution prior to begin makeup and had to hold my breath until Maghrib to go to the ladies. It took me a lot of effort! Sip some water and performed Maghrib at a small corner. Pheeeew! I'm not gonna elaborate the fashion show as I don't have the photos yet. Ok?

 As of date, Ramadhan has been kind to me. Alhamdulillah. Business is doing good too albeit in different genre now. Uncle Din? Well, I'm so thankful that he is supportive and gave consent on my interest. Somehow I'm flattered by his kindness of sending me and wait patiently until I'm done. Normally every modelling job is time consuming. And when I'm done, there he is sitting by himself immersed with his mobile phone. Then there comes that line

"Teman I makan boleh? Nak makan kat Murni.."

"*Gulp.... *Calory.... OK sayang.... *Sweat..."     

 I've began to see the truth in my colleague's advice; in times of darkness where there is no light to guide your way, appeal to Allah SWT as HE will show you the way. We always say that we are grateful for what we have and we are sincere in our doings, but how true can you vouch that? Only you can tell.

Mega Drama Maskara & Premium Beautiful

Have you ever heard of this drama? If only they aired the drama at TV3 I reckon it would be a big hit and easily to be noticed. Instead, it is aired at TV1 (Whaaat...?) I barely flick to TV1 ok.. Ok so why suddenly I'm bothered to acknowledge the drama because I'm not a fan of KRU's production? They've released terrible movies (Cicak Man; u gotta be kidding me.. seriously?? Siap ader Cicak Man II ok....) and at one time they released a singing sitcom Hotel Mania whereby the cast were Akademi Fantasia's graduates (that was a total joke especially when I don't like Marsha Milan Londoh... hamek kau nama penuh lagi...).

So by knowing my revulsion towards KRU's work, I on the contrary felt quite compelled to glance at this drama becaaaaause....

1. It was said that the drama was inspired from Desperate Housewives and I love DH.

From what I decipher, it seems that the drama revolves around 3 young beautiful housewives who has a close rapport. A newbie comes by and fits in the group very well; and then there are four. The ladies comes from different age groups with different personality too. Very much akin to Desperate Housewives huh? I just hope the storyline is just as good or else it would be a great waste for collaborating this ladies. We just have to wait and see. This is an amazing cast ok!

Salam everyone…! Sorry for the long hiatus as I did not have access to update my lovely blog…

Okay, if you notice, yesss I have just started to involve with modeling but please don’t call me a model. People has high expectation when you claim to be a model; preeeeeeetty face, super slim figure, small waistline and etc.. Believe me, it is terribly stress to live up to that expectation. Peha budak2 model tuh besar betis I jer.... bukan main kuruih lagi model2 nih... Damn... I admit that I do have self-esteem issues when it is in regard with physical appearances and physical features… I’ll write on that on a different post yea. Basically today I would like to share with you on what have help me to become a model.

Would you agree me that Allah SWT knows the best for you? That his plans are better than ours? This is the reason why we must always accept changes and embrace challenges. Watch YES MAN people! Watch how Jim Carrey’s life began to change for the better when he says YES to everything instead of giving excuses. Okay, everything started when CDM Faridah Mohd Ali invited me to join her team to do a photo shoot advertising Premium Beautiful Biz and promoting Akademi Taipan 181 too. It was a concoction of great hesitations and doubts before I finally agreed to join her. I’ve never done any photo shoot before and I don’t want to waste any ringgit spent on it. But then again, I just went along.

Our Certified Professional Image Consultant (CPIC) was Azlia Idha; the owner of GetGorgeous Boutique. She groomed us and styled us according to our physical figure and personality. I was extremely nervous for the shoot but instead of letting that feeling ruining my shots, I decided to have fun!

Months later after we did the photo shoot; Kak Lia contacted me again to be one of her models for Style Fest 2013. Apparently she diagnosed my physical shape as hour glass body and she needed someone to style her clothing line. So girls, this was how everything started for me. If I had not worn Premium Beautiful religiously and drink BBplus everyday, would you think anybody would take notice of me? I was plain jane before all of this happened. I was out of shape, my skin tone was dark and I look older than my age.

I am not rich and famous yet though like the other models, but what I am trying to accentuate here is that you must allow yourself to accept changes for a better life. Would you think I could be like this today if I hadn’t join ATM 181? Would I look like this if it wasn’t for BBplus that improved my skin immensely? The answer is no. If it wasn’t for that simple invitation from Kak Dah, I would remain as an ordinary person with an ordinary life; nothing extravaganza no excitement.

 And because of this new exposure that I’m going through, I admit that it raises my doubts (faith) to another level. I began to recite Quran everyday to help me see things clearly especially in making decisions. I pray and beg Allah SWT to give me signs in managing all of this. And as I mentioned earlier, I don’t think I would have hold the Quran everyday if it wasn’t for this. I seriously don't have any idea how long will I be in this field so I am leaving that thought open. Whatever happens, Allah SWT knows what is best for me.

Maimoon & Hayfa Marissa

A good colleague of mine in particular Maisarah Mohamed Taib whom I prefer to call her as Maimoon has delivered her 3^rd baby girl on Nov 19, 2012. I think it has been 1 month since her confinement period but I never got the time to visit her though until today. She already had 2 girls prior to that so the 3^rd delivery was much at ease. She didn’t even have to endure any episiotomy whereby the healing is very painful and time consuming. (ngilu…..)

So today happened to be a great opportunity to visit Maimoon and baby Hayfa  at their beautiful home in Putra Heights. I present to you baby Hayfa Marissa!! 

She detest unannounced guests so early notification was made compulsory. But this is what happened when she was informed in advance; she went through the hustle to cook and prepare delicious food for lunch. My goodness… But I must say her cooking is definitely finger licking good. I even had a 2^nd round on the spaghetti (I loveeeeeee spaghetti yea)… Thank you for reading my mind Maimoon. But but but…. I wasn’t the only one who was extremely in great hunger. In fact, all of us were very hungry that we could eat a horse...We all sat and dine quietly appreciating every moment of digesting the delicious foods. Nyum nyum.. 

Maimoon told me that she is a loyal consumer of Premium Beautiful whereby this shall be her very first choice for every post delivery. According to her (I quote) PB is much easier to be worn, to move and much more comfortable to be in than the traditional corset. Besides, Premium Beautiful’s grip is much tighter and firmer because the conventional corset has high tendency to loosen as you are only anchored by knots.

Usually normal delivery would require easily 2 weeks of leadtime before you can slip on the corset subject to recovery. But for Maimoon, she started wearing PB on the 4^th day as she doesn’t have the episiotomy stitches. Good tip yea?
