ISLAND BBQ STEAMBOAT & GRILLE @ KG MELAYU SUBG

Uncle Din and I have been a great big fan of this steamboat & grille place. It is basically a STEAMBOAT Buffet. The reason being is it is very near with our home; just a shy meters away from babysiter, the ambience is serene & offers a peace of mind, the landscape is beautiful and children love the place as it has a fish pond. So what restaurant am I referring to?

If you are familiar with Fella Design (located between Jln Sg Buloh & Guthrie Highway Corridor), then that is the best prominent landmark to find your way there. So do ask help from Mr. Google for Fella Design's location if you tend to get lost.

We’ve already gone there twice and will be going for our 3rd attempt tomorrow night. Our 1st adventure began when we were scouting to celebrate Father’s Day. I offered Uncle Din to reunite with his friends as his close friends within his radius have become fathers too. Initially we intended to go to Kelip-Kelip Steamboat & Grille located at Subang Bestari. This restaurant belongs to a good schoolmate of mine; Hana Malai (dats what we call her). We did reached the place and found it to be rather interesting but majority voted Island BBQ instead. Maybe next time yea Hana?  

1st visit: Father’s Day 2012 

We had a great night to remember. Well actually Uncle Din had a great night. I on the other hand was enduring ‘boot camp’ chasing Piya all over the place. But both of us agreed on one thought; we didn’t have the chance to enjoy the gamut of food. So subsequently we went there again for the following week.



2nd visit: Just for Dinner

 

They also SERVE bottomless ice-cream mainly for kids. When i say they serve, i really mean it. You are not allowed to scoop the ice-cream on your own due to hygiene purposes. And owh; i brought my Preve mug which Proton gave away to the staff recently. The headlamp will appear when the mug is warm.

And of course, this entry won't serve its purpose w/o some glimpse of Piya:


3rd visit: Coming soon

In conjunction with Ramadhan’s anticipation, Cik D and I have garnered ideas to gather the parents again prior to the fasting month. Normally we would only gather for an open-house occasion or birthday celebrations. So this time, we wanted to try something new. Besides, the notion of gathering all the parents is fun! There are only 5 parents sending their toddler to Cik D so I surmise that is the reason for us being so close. Furthermore, everyone is complacent and pleasant. 

Syukur Alhamdulillah Allah SWT has introduced us to a wonderful babysitter a.k.a Cik D a.k.a Ummi (as the children refer her) and a great circle of friends. Or should I say family? We have bonded so well for the past 1 year. Looking forward for more years to come.

    annabella: you should! i really love the ambiance and landscape..even the grass are properly landscaped with fish pond some more.... you'll love it!

    I was just wondering um how do I start. Are they obeying eat-all-you-can-til-collapse-in-unlimited-time policy. I mean, there's one place I once went to, had attracted customers with such advertisement but then when we get there, they provide us only a handful of burning charcoal, you know right it lasted only for like 30 mins. We were so frustrated and disappointed to the extent we had to find another restaurant to gobble something hahaha lapar kut. Thank you though for this post. :D

      hye there,

      so far, this restaurant does offers that; eat all you can and we were never told that there is a limited time..But normally, ppl would stay around 3 hours top..? in regard with the resource, you can always ask them to refill what... that's what we did... beside, this is not using charcoal aaaaand once our gas was out so they just replace it and we presume our meal.

      anyhoo, never rely on assumptions, contact them to clarify doubts for the peace of mind.
